Message But I'll first have to get use to the power and be able to be comfortable on the street before I start slowly pushing myself and my Z to the limates.

About your side note, (Myself being a former long haul driver) if he did put his signal on, then there is a 90% chance that he *did* see you. There might have been something in the road that he had make a quick decision. This happened to myself on a back road somewhere in Oklahoma around 1am. I noticed a fallen tree (had to be about 3 feet thick) laying across the right lane, I quickly put on my turn signal and flashed my load lights (rearward facing light to illuminating the trailer for night-time operations) and "wagged" the car next to me. This is when you quickly move the very edge of the lane to simulate that your comming over, giving the other person the choice of slamming on the brakes or gas. However this guy never noticed the fallen tree and when he passed me stood on his brakes directly infont of me. Luckly I was only loaded with 10Klbs so I was able to avoid hitting him.

But when I'm driving I never stay alongside any big trucks for this exact reason. Hang back a bit and wait for a the traffic ahead to give you enough space to accelerate by the truck greatly reducing the chances of what you encountered.

Its good that you guys didn't loose control and your family and the Z are o.k.
